Thoughts need to be recorded as the environment develops. So much gets lost along the way. Does anyone from the manor, its magnificent gates directly opposite the bus shelter, use this space? Maybe the Lord of the manor commissioned the building of it? Don't be fooled, passes through my subconscious, as I sweep the leaves away. Then the article about old-moneyed in the countryside, sort of hiding away: www.theguardian.com/society/2018/may/19/aristocracy-royal-wedding-is-this-the-new-posh and www.theguardian.com/news/2017/sep/07/how-the-aristocracy-preserved-their-power.
You see them at the local garage/post office; you hear them chatting to other old-moneyed types. No, I don't feel animosity towards them; just surprise that this lifestyle can continue unchallenged. A good friend said that she chose her country idyll as is, so why should someone change it after she's moved in. It's a fair point, when thought of from her perspective, and honest.
